The entire program will be complete by the end of Saturday afternoon. Thursday evening, a special program will be hosted by the Beckman Center at Caltech. The Legacy of Arnold Beckman Symposium will celebrate the life and the lasting impact of this remarkable scientist and entrepreneur, featuring an invited talk by Dr. Leroy Hood. Friday sessions will begin at 8 AM and there will be plenary lectures both in the morning and in the afternoon on new developments in biological chemistry and chemistry of new energy technologies, respectively. In the late afternoon, a reception with hors dourves and drinks will be held adjacent the largest of WRM2011's three poster sessions. Saturday will feature a symposium on computational chemistry organized by UCLA's Kendall Houk. Workshops on education, intellectual property and vendor-sponsored technical topics will be held Saturday as well as a series of presentations and advising sessions by Career Services. |
Anyone wishing to make an oral or poster presentation must register for the meeting. http://abstracts.acs.orgWRM2011 is listed as "43RD WESTERN REGIONAL MEETING (PASADENA, CA)" (If you do not have an ACS login ID, create one using the link labeled "Registering is Easy" |
